It would be such a shame if you missed out

De Studio
A play about the worry that the party is happening somewhere else
What to do when everything is constantly cheering you on? Boom. What to do when you hear the muffled bass but have no idea where it’s coming from? Boom, boom. Is life a big party that you can’t find the entrance to? Boom, boom, boom. How long are you going to keep looking in this cold and deserted industrial estate? And are all the enthusiastic and happy people really there or are they just ghosts in your head? Following Ruzie 6+, Theater Artemis and Theater Basel team up once more. This time for an absurdist-philosophical play about the fear of missing out, for everyone aged 12 and up.
“LIKE A MASTER MANIPULATOR, BATELAAN MAKES YOU FEEL HOW YOU CAN MAKE A GROUP CRAVE SOMETHING, AND WHAT ANGER AND RESENTMENT ARISES WHEN THEY THEN CANNOT GET IT.”
“THIS PERFORMANCE ABOUT (THE COMMERCIAL EXPLOITATION OF) TEENAGE SUFFERING IS TOTALLY CONVINCING THANKS TO AN IMPECCABLE SENSE OF TIMING AND ABSURD EFFECTS THAT, THROUGH THEIR ABSURDITY, MAKE ITS (PERVERSE) PSYCHOLOGY VISIBLE. ”
